The anti-imperialist struggle in West Africa

Since 2023, the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) has been pursuing an anti-colonial course in the region and has been punished for this by the West with severe sanctions and smear campaigns. We would like to examine the origins of this anti-imperialist wave in West Africa and discuss the challenges it currently faces. What is the nature of the AES governments? How have these states developed in recent years? And what significance does this have for the current shifts in the international balance of power?
